Car crash, TPS H1N1 vaccine clinics, Toledo holiday parade...

A Toledo area homeowner is feeling lucky this morning after a car crash landed in his front yard. It happened at Angola and Wenz around 2:30 this morning. Police say a car crashed into a fence, flipped, hit another fence and then hit a tree in front of the house. The homeowner told 13abc that he used to complain about the leaves left behind by that tree, but no more since that tree is what protected his home. He also says it's not the first time a car has crashed onto his property. The two guys inside were taken to UTMC with what police say are serious injuries. The cause is under investigation.

Today, students from the Waite feeder schools are encouraged to go to Waite high school between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to get the H1N1 vaccine. Those schools include Birmingham elementary, Leverette middle, Spring elementary and Woodward high school. The shot is free. Click here for more information.

A holiday tradition kicks off today. The 22nd annual Toledo holiday parade starts at 11 a.m. at the corner of Summit and Jefferson and winds its way through downtown, ending at Huron Street. For more information on the parade route, click here.

A state run railway in Russia says sabotage could be to blame for the derailment of an express train carrying hundreds of passengers from Moscow to Saint Petersburg. Twenty-five people were killed, 19 are missing and 96 were hurt. The president of the railway says the accident may have been caused by an explosion under the tracks. Russian trains have been the targets of bombers in the past.

Ohio hospitals are bracing for a new state fee that starts next week. The new franchise fee goes into effect Monday and is expected to raise $718-million to help balance the state budget. The fee is based on a percentage of operating expenses at each hospital and will be paid over 2 years. Federal money will help offset the costs because hospitals will be partially reimbursed with higher Medicaid payments, but hospitals will still take a hit.

'Tis the season to give and the Red Cross is asking for your help. Through this weekend, the Toledo blood donor center is holding their "Great Turkey Escape" event where you can receive Rudy's hot dogs for your donation. The Red Cross says donation at this time of year is important because blood supplies are especially low. You can donate today from 7 until 2, and Sunday from 10 to 2.

Tiger Woods is recovering this morning after crashing his car early Friday morning. Police in Florida, where the golfer lives, says Woods' wife used a golf club to smash out the back window and helped get him out of the car. She told officers she was in the house when she heard the crash. Police say Woods hit a fire hydrant and part of a tree and was in and out of consciousness when they arrived. Woods had cuts on his lips and blood in his mouth. He was reportedly treated and released from the hospital. Police do not think alcohol was involved.

It was a close call for a Minnesota state trooper after someone sideswiped his patrol car. And it was all caught on dashcam video. The trooper had pulled someone over for driving drunk when another driver hit his car. Fortunately, the trooper was not hurt. The 25 year old woman who hit him was arrested.

An Adrian mother will serve up to 20 years in jail for giving her 4 year old daughter synthetic heroin. Police say it was all part of a scheme to pass a drug test. Randi Marie Carr, 31, will spend a minimum of 4 years behind bars. Carr was prescribed methadone to treat a heroin addiction and wanted to use her daughter's urine to pass a drug test. She gave the toddler methadone so testers would believe the urine was hers. The little girl was not hurt.
