Black Friday sales, stolen kettle, Ottawa Hills deer debate...

Black Friday shoppers gave the economy a shot in the arm spending more in stores this Black Friday than they did last year. Preliminary data from Shopper-Trak says shoppers spent $10.7-billion in stores Friday. That's up 0.5-percent from last year's Black Friday. But even with the encouraging news, millions of Americans are on a tight budget this holiday season.

Maumee police are looking for a man that pushed a Salvation Army worker and stole a kettle full of money. It happened at the Andersons yesterday. Police believe the suspect is a man who drove up in a stolen black pick-up truck. Toledo police found the stolen truck later at Dorr and Reynolds and had it towed back to Maumee, but no kettle was inside. The woman was pushed, but did not need medical treatment. No word on how much money was in the kettle. And at this point, no arrests have been made.

The Ottawa Hills deer debate is far from over this morning. Some residents are now trying to put a stop to the village council's plan to kill dozens of deer overpopulating the area. How do they plan on doing that? They want to get a referendum on the ballot that would let voters decide if deer hunting should be allowed in Ottawa Hills. If the group opposed gets enough signatures, then there could be a vote during the election in May; basically preventing a cull early next year. The group hopes to start collecting signatures sometime next week.

Toledo police need your help tracking down two men who robbed a Subway restaurant. That crime happened just before 11 Friday night at the Subway in the 3300 block of Lagrange. Police say two black men entered the Subway with guns and demanded money. TPD says the two suspects then took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. If you happen to know anything about this crime, call Toledo police.

The Florida highway patrol continues to investigate a crash involving pro golfer Tiger Woods. Authorities hope to talk to the golfer today. They were back on the scene yesterday wanting to speak with Woods about the one-vehicle crash that sent him to the hospital early Friday morning. However, Tiger and his wife were not available for comment. According to an accident report, Wood's 2009 Cadillac SUV struck a fire hydrant and then a tree. The pro golfer was treated and released from the hospital in good condition a few hours afterwards. Still, questions remain.

Florida authorities are on the hunt for a man accused in the shooting deaths of fours relatives after a Thanksgiving dinner. Prosecutors have issued an arrest warrant for the man and a $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest. Florida investigators think he could be in Michigan and have alerted authorities there.

Four people were shot in a Madison, Wisconsin home. Now police are looking for the suspects. Police say it appears to be a domestic situation involving a man, a woman and two kids. All four were taken to area hospitals. Police say they have the gun used in the shooting and can't say much more until they are able to talk to the victims.

A fire ripped through an unoccupied house after midnight on the 3300 block of Glenwood near Highland. Crews say the owner moved out a week ago. Crews estimate the damage at $40,000. Firefighters are calling the fire suspicious. No word yet on a cause.

You can expect one Texas church to be packed this weekend. The church plans to hand out $22,000 in cash to people in the congregation. But there's a catch. The money has to be used to perform random acts of kindness. There's also another twist. Each envelope passed out at the Grace church will hold a different amount. Some members will get $6, while others as much as $500. The church has even created its own website, titled "The Need to Seed" for members to share their stories of generosity.
