Michael Jackson vs. GQ Magazine

Saturday, May 06, 2006

A GQ article spoofing Michael Jackson has the pop star "furious."

A spokesman for the reclusive singer says he wants the magazine to apologize. He's also demanding the offending issue be pulled from the shelves.

At issue is an article called "Where's Michael?" The satirical piece attempts to track Jackson in Bahrain, where he moved after being acquitted of child molestation charges last year.

The magazine spread features a Jackson look-alike sitting in a darkened movie theater with a group of children. The article also refers to Jackson as "Mr. Sleepover," and a "weird human being" who's left the U.S. because the nation no longer loves him.

GQ's editor-in-chief says it's obvious the piece is satirical.
