Lebanon maximum security prison holds about 1,000 inmates

It looks like the retired Toledo priest charged with killing a nun back in 1980 will be kept in a prison just north of Cincinnati. Father Gerald Robinson, 68, is now being held at the Warren Correctional Institution. That's a maxium security facility with over 1,000 inmates.

The prison's website lists that Robinson is being held for the murder of Sister Margaret Ann Pahl with a minimum of 15 years behind bars. It shows his first chance at parole will be in March of 2021. There has been talk about an appeal in Robinson's case, but no word on that yet. He's also the focus of a civil suit involving sexual abuse.

The Warren Correctional Institution is located in Lebanon, Ohio, northeast of Cincinnati. Robinson is housed with 528 African American inmates, 491 white inmates, and 23 of them are either Hispanic or of another background.

According to the Ohio department of rehabilitation and corrections website, the daily cost per inmate is $73.61. So far this year, the prison reports no inmate escapes or walkaways. According to the ODRC website, while incarcerated, Robinson may participate in industrial and vocational work as well as community service and educational programs.
