Mike Kookoothe of Vespa of Toledo says he's sold 35 scooters since April 1st.

One way to beat those high gas prices is to stop driving, but is there another way to get to work.

Mike Kookoothe of Vespa of Toledo says he's sold 35 scooters since April 1st. "We sold as many this month as we did in 2 months of last year," says Mike.

Yesterday he sold 5. The reason is the high rise in gas at $4 a gallon. "Every time gas prices go up the traffic in our show room rises considerably." That's because vespa's get 70 miles to the gallon. That means with gas at $4 a gallon, a trip to Columbus will only cost you a little more than $8.

Kookoothe says people are looking to save anyway they can. "A lot of people coming in today saying I've got an SUV and it's costing me $8 a week to drive it, and I need something. And I only drive 5 miles to work, but it's still costing them an arm and a leg."

But it's more than fuel efficiency, Kookoothe insists vespa's are fun. If you're thinking of a vespa, expect to pay around $4200.
