Some Cincinnati developers have unveiled a new electric car. It's called the Mono-Mobile. The one seater, also known as the "Liberator Car", uses battery power for short hops around town but can switch to an electrified overhead track for longer trips. The electricity from the track powers the car's battery allowing it to operate automatically while computers tell it which exit to take.

"The benefit is the electricity from the rail recharges the batteries. Basically we solved the battery problem. What's even better, once you're hooked up to the rail, the driver can relax, sleep or do work," says co-inventor Jay Andress.

The inventors say their car combines the best of both worlds; the convenience of a clean, affordable and safe private car with the advantages of public transportation. The pair are now looking for investors to get the necessary $10-million to build a one mile test track.
