After spending nearly eight weeks off the line, Jeep workers are returning back to their jobs today, nut it may not be for long. Today 2,200 Jeep workers are back on the job. Some will only work for another month until they are laid off again.

Workers for the Liberty and Nitro will be laid off for four more weeks this year; the week of September 22nd, the week of October 27th, and two weeks in November. There are rumors of more changes at Jeep, although the union denies those. These changes have had an effect on the economy. From this summer's layoffs, Toledo stands to lose $250,000 of income tax revenue from this summer's layoffs, add another $100,000 for these new layoffs.
