UPDATE: UT football players arrested

Two UT football players who ended up in jail are now making their way through the court system. We broke the story Monday on 13abc Action News. Early Sunday police arrested wide receiver Nick Moore and defensive end Albertson Alexandre after a fight outside Rhino's Bar on Bancroft. Today the judge ordered the players back in court later this month. While awaiting their next hearing, Coach Amstutz said today neither player will start this week against Northern Illinois, they will play, just not start. They face other team discipline as well.

Monday October 13
The Toledo Rockets football team is still celebrating its 13-to-10 victory over the Michigan Wolverines Saturday. But two team members spent the night after the game in jail.

Senior wide receiver Nick Moore and sophomore defensive end Albertson Alexandre were arrested around 2:30 Sunday morning. The football players were picked up outside of Rhino's Bar on Bancroft. According to a police report, the two Rockets players were arrested for disorderly conduct intoxication and obstructing official business.

Officers observed about forty people fighting outside of Rhino's Bar. When officers got closer they saw Moore involved in a fist fight with 27-year-old Jason Link. Officers sprayed mace into the crowd, then arrested Moore and Link. The report says while officers were dispersing the crowd, Albertson Alexandre repeatedly approached the officers, ignoring commands to leave. He too was arrested and booked in the Lucas County jail.

All three men will be in court Tuesday.
