Tyler Frost went against the school's code and attended Findlay HS prom

It's a story that's making headlines across the country: Footloose in Findlay! A senior at Heritage Christian school is now officially suspended and banned from graduation after taking his girlfriend to Findlay high school's prom!

This morning, 17-year-old Tyler Frost stood across the street from Heritage Christian school in Findlay speaking to the media about the consequences of attending Findlay high school's prom.

The principal suspended Tyler through the end of the school year and is banning him from walking in his cap and gown, claiming he violated the student conduct code.

Each student pledges to abide by the code that prohibits dancing, rock music, hand-holding and kissing.

The principal was not willing to go on camera, but did post a question on the school's website, questioning Tyler's decision, asking "Should Christians place themselves at an event where young ladies will have low-cut dresses and be dancing in them?"

Tyler's family is asking the school to have good faith in the student's values. His stepfather Stephan Johnson says, "If what they're teaching is right, they should have known he would make the right decisions."

The principal told 13abc he is standing by his decision and will not reconsider.

Even without the pomp and circumstance, Tyler and his girlfriend Becca say they'd do it all over again.

Tyler will receive his diploma from Heritage Christian. Principal Tim England says he can take his final exams after the ceremony later this month.

Today on Twitter, we asked "What do you think about the Heritage Christian senior who was suspended for attending the Findlay high school prom?"

Cynthia Hampton wrote: If he gets suspended, let's take a look at the faculty and their after-hours examples.

Darcy Smolenski responded: Yeah, that's a crock. But the reality is the kid and his parents probably signed a contract upon enrollment. Fine print's a killer.

There are more of your answers at Twitter where we want to continue to hear from you on the prom controversy and other news-related topics.
