An Ottawa Hills police officer could face 11 years behind bars. Charges were handed down today in a case that stems from the shooting of a motorcyclist. Thomas White pleaded not guilty to one felony count of felonious assault wth a firearms specification. His attorney says White is innocent. White continues on paid administrative leave. He was released on his own recognizance.

This morning a judge set bond at $500,000 for a man allegedly involved in a fatal shooting. Dejuan Booker faces murder and felonious assault charges. Police say he killed Armond Parker on May 1. Markies Turner, 22, was also shot.

We've talked a lot about foreclosures in the housing industry. But today a huge piece of commercial property in Bowling Green could be the next foreclosure victim. A bank has filed a foreclosure action against the Woodland Mall. The Wood County clerk of courts says the mortgage is not being paid. The best case scenario is that a new buyer will come forward. Worst case it that the mall goes out of business and the city and county lose taxes.

With the deadline looming, a handful of candidates wanting to lead Toledo into the future are taking a big step today. This morning, city councilman Mike Collins filed his petition signatures with the Lucas County board of elections. Other major mayoral candidates -- Ben Konop and Keith Wilkowski -- are also expected to turn in their petitons this afternoon. The deadline to file is Friday. No word on when Jim Moody or Mike Bell plan to turn in their stuff.

If you're looking to start or finish your college degree, head over to the University of Toledo. Today they're hosting an Edu-Nomic stimulus day until 7 p.m. in Rocket Hall on the main campus. The event gives you the chance to learn more about UT, tour the campus, and apply to UT. Informational sessions are also being held every 30 minutes until 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

New details in the brutal killing of a Florida couple. Investigators now say the suspects involved trained for a month to rob the couple's home. Seven men are now in custody. Investigators say more arrests are expected. The couple had 17 children - four biological and 13 adopted. Nine of the children were at the home when the couple was shot.

Doctors are now finding too much weight could lead to arthritis. New research shows obesity actually increases the risk of rapid cartilage loss. That can lead to osteoarthritis, the most common type of arthritis. Doctors involved in the study noted that weight, unlike gender, race or cultural background, was the biggest factor in cartilage loss and that losing weight is probably the best way to fight the condition. You can find more on this study in next month's issue of Radiology.

It's a special day for a Maumee family. The national MDA office was there to film the Calebrese family for the MDA telethon which takes place in a few months. The telethon raises money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association to help find a cure. Every year in September, 13abc participates in the telethon. Last year we raised more than $555,000 in our viewing area
