World's Longest Yard Sale kicks off in NW Ohio

The sale starts here in northwest Ohio and goes all the way to Alabama!

If you're looking for some deals and something to do this weekend, hit the road for the World's Longest Yard Sale. The sale starts here in northwest Ohio and goes all the way to Alabama!

Drive down State Route 127 and you'll find cars lining the streets for miles, 685 miles to be exact. "Every year it's getting bigger and bigger," says participant Deena Shaffer.

The World's Longest Yard Sale kicked off this morning. It starts in West Unity and runs all the way to Alabama. The 4 day event draws bargain hunters from across the country. Pastor James Nathan of West Unity United Methodist says, "We've seen people from Missouri, Minnesota, New York, all over."

Deanna Fuller drives in from New York to spend the weekend with her sister. "It's about us getting together as a family. We have a terrific time," says Sabrina Cropp.

The Johnson's come from North Carolina and this road trip serves as a family vacation. But it's not about comfort; you need lots of space for what you buy. Barbara Johnson says, "We are in a truck and occasionally we have to rent a U-Haul."

And if the price is right, sellers can really cash in. But you'll have to pinch your pennies if you plan on tackling all 685 miles.

You still have a chance to check it out. The World's Largest Yard Sale runs through Sunday, August 9, but we're told the good deals will go quick.
