The small town of Deshler is rallying around it's workforce after another factory becomes a victim of the struggling auto industry. Residents of Deshler say they are one big family and they plan to come together to take care of one another.

Bill Rathge has lived in the small town of Deshler all his life. He's worried about its future.

Claude Sintz Inc. is closing. The plant makes heavy metal parts for the auto industry. It's the second factory to announce it's pulling out of Deshler. Sherwin-Williams, which is located directly across from Claude Sintz, will also close. Workers at both factories blame the economy.

There are 48 Claude Sintz employees who will soon be out of job. Tracy Black is the president of the chamber of commerce, she is sad to see another factory pull out. Despite Deshler's uncertain future, she's not giving up on her hometown.

"That is probably the biggest thing that we need to do is to try and get some new businesses here. We do have the Deshler development committee. They work very strongly with our Henry County development committee."

The plant will officially shut down October 1.
