Three people are now safe on ground after being rescued in Monroe County.

Three people are now safe on ground after being rescued in Monroe County.

The coast guard says their sailing vessel ran aground. It happened after 10:30 Thursday night approximately one mile south of Luna Pier.

The coast guard says the vessel was headed to Toledo Beach Marina through four foot seas and 25 to 30 knots of winds when it ran aground. All three people were removed from the vessel by helicopter and were reported to be in good condition.
