The future of Longfellow school is still undecided. Last night two council members held a community meeting to discuss the options.

Residents heard two different proposals from TPS officials and the City of Toledo. One would keep Longfellow school on site and the other would move it on the campus of Start High School

Toledo Public School's original plan is to essentially make a trade with the city. They want to build the new school on the land at Bowman Park near Start High School and give the city the land where Longfellow currently sits to be used as green space.

Another idea is to demolish the current building and rebuild a new one on site, however, that would mean students would have to move to another school for 15 to 16 months during the construction. Either way, parents and neighbors say the school needs a facelift.

The future of Longfellow will go to council for a vote, but there is no word yet on when that vote will take place.
