Man dies in crash after fleeing hit-and-run

A Toledo man died in an accident on South Ave. Friday night after fleeing an earlier hit-and-run

A Toledo man was killed in a crash after fleeing the scene of a different accident earlier in the night.

Police say Anthony Darden, 44, collided with a vehicle on S. Reynolds Road about 10:30 Friday night.

Darden then fled the scene at a high rate of speed, eventually losing control of his vehicle on South Avenue, striking a fire hydrant and utility pole. Darden was thrown from his vehicle and later pronounced dead at UTMC.
