Shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday, Raleigh Police Department officers responded to a shots-fired call in the 5900 block of Shadetree Lane.

Upon initial investigation, officers found 32-year-old James Carol Deberry suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to WakeMed, but later died.

Detectives charged 45-year-old David Eric Moses with murder in connection to Deberry's death.

Moses was taken into custody and transported to the Wake County Jail.

On Monday, police charged a second suspect, 43-years-old James Harold Courtney III with murder in connection with Deberry's death. Courtney was also taken to the Wake County Jail.

The investigation of the case is continuing.

Further details about the incident have not been released.
