House fire injures firefighter, Jackie Frisch to speak at the Washington Branch Library today...

A vacant house fire overnight damages a nearby home and sends a Toledo firefighter to the hospital. It all started after 1:30 on Forest and Prospect avenues. We're told a firefighter suffered minor burns on the face. When fire crews arrived they found smoke and flames engulfing parts of the building up through the second floor. Crews started attacking the fire defensively from the outside. Shortly after, that part of the structure collapsed hitting the neighbor's home. The battalion chief says the home is vacant, but neighbors say just last week police crews were called out to the home and people do live here. No word on what caused the blaze.

Tropical Storm Ida is already causing some flooding in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Forecasters say the storm lost some of its punch on its trek through the Gulf. Tropical storm warnings are in effect in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, where governors have declared states of emergency.

Heavy rain triggered a massive landslide in southern India killing at least 39 people. The region is some 1100 miles south of the capital, New Delhi. Rescue officials say none of victims killed or the eight injured were foreigners.

An update now in the case of the eleven bodies found in and around a Cleveland man's home. Anthony Sowell, 50, has been indicted on rape and attempted murder charges for an attack at his home back in September. That's in addition to five aggravated murder charges already filed against Sowell. Also, the FBI is investigating whether Sowell may have links to other murders in places where he lived while in the military.

It's been one year since the Frisch family shined in the national spotlight on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" Today, Jackie Frisch will share her amazing story of how Extreme Makeover blessed her family of 13. You can hear Jackie speak in the talk titled "Hearts and Hands for Heroes". It's tonight at 7:00 at the Washington Branch Library. 13abc's Diane Larson will introduce Jackie who says blessings continue to flood her life. Following Jackie's talk she'll answer some questions from the crowd.

The man accused of shooting a Kansas abortion doctor has confessed to the crime. In a telephone call from jail, Scott Roeder told the Associated Press he has no regrets over killing Dr. George Tiller. Police say the 51-year-old shot Tiller at his church in Wichita, Kansas in May. Roeder says he killed the doctor because he believed the lives of pre-born children were in danger.

A woman falls into the path of an approaching train in Massachusetts. Boston police say the 26-year-old woman was drunk when she stumbled. Fellow riders yelled at the oncoming train, waving at it to stop, and it did. The train driver stopped halfway over the woman's body. Amazingly, the woman suffered only a few scratches on her knees.

A Portland, Oregon father and his seven children went on a camping trip and on the way back an unexpected snowstorm hit, trapping the family's van in a snowdrift. They waited more than 24 hours in the cold, eating leftover sandwiches from their camping trip. Finally, they heard an answer to their prayers, the sound of snow mobiles. The search and rescue crews found the family.

Three teenage boys, accused of setting a 15-year-old on fire in Deerfield Beach, Florida, will be charged as adults. Police say the boys face one count each of attempted second-degree murder. Michael Brewer had burns over 65 percent of his body and remains in critical condition.

Michael Jackson's father is accusing the administrators of his son's will of fraud. Joseph Jackson is looking to get an allowance from the singer's estate. Jackson's attorney filed documents in court late yesterday claiming the singer believed his old friends defrauded him. Joseph Jackson was excluded from Michael Jackson's will.

The Scion College Ride and Drive Tour is making a stop at University of Toledo. Students will have the chance to test drive Scion vehicles and check out some customized vehicles with gaming stations. The tour is happening at Jed's on campus from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The man who was almost Sarah Palin's son-in-law plans to take legal action against the Palin family. Levi Johnston will ask to gain joint custody of his ten-month-old son, Tripp. Johnston claims the Palin family is making it hard for him to see his son. The relationship between Levi and the Palins has gotten nasty lately with Johnston calling the former vice presidential candidate a hypocrite.

Former President Bill Clinton returns to Capitol Hill today to tackle the health care debate which is meeting resistance in the Senate. Clinton will speak to Senate Democrats about the legislation during their weekly caucus. His visit comes after the House passed its version of the overhaul last weekend.
