Sandusky woman died of severe head trauma, A Toledo police officer arrested for drunk driving on the job faced a judge today...

We have new information regarding the death of a Sandusky woman. A coroner says 58-year-old Carla Westhofen died from severe head trauma. Her body was found over the weekend near Erie, Pennsylvania. Authorities are now looking for 56-year-old David Kromer. Police believe he kidnapped Westhofen, killed her, and then dumped her body in Pennsylvania.

A Toledo police officer arrested for drunk driving on the job faced a judge today. James Breier pled not guilty to the charges. Last month police say Breier responded to an accident at Detroit and Berdan involving a fire engine. On scene, a battalion chief felt Breier may have been intoxicated. Breier later failed field sobriety tests and was booked in jail. He has been suspended without pay.

A Northwest Ohio state trooper who was once honored for making the most DUI arrests has now been charged with drunk driving himself. OHP Trooper Gerald Gibson has now taken a leave following the arrest. Gibson was off-duty when he was pulled over and refused to take a breathalyzer.

Ohio will be one of the first states in the country to follow strict, new national curriculum standards in its schools. State school leaders say the effort called Common Core will develop fewer, clearer and higher education standards in hopes of boosting student performance. Drafts of Common Core English and math standards are expected to be ready next month. The new course standards will now allow states to share results and teaching tools.
