Help fight domestic violence at the Purple Party

A group fighting domestic violence wants your help to raise money for victims while having fun.

In 2007, Alicia Castillon and her friend were murdered by her ex-boyfriend at her Bowling Green home. Afterwards Alicia's mother, Kathy Newlove, opened "Alicia's Voice" to help abused women.

Now that group is inviting you to the Purple Party fundraiser. It's on Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight at Nazareth Hall in Grand Rapids. You can enjoy dancing, an art auction, and a cash bar.

Organizers want you to wear purple in support of domestic violence victims. Tickets are $35 a person, $60 per couple. For details, call 419-352-8874.
