Groups thank Rep. Kaptur for health care vote

Although pro-choicers didn't like her Stupak amendment endorsement

Two groups thanked Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur today for her recent vote on health care reform. We're talking about the House version of the bill. As you know the Senate is still debating its version.

Today, "Health Care for America Now" and "Toledo Area Jobs with Justice" thanked Kaptur at her Toledo office for her vote. They say comprehensive healthcare reform has never been this close to passage since Medicare passed in the '60s.

Kaptur has also faced criticism for her vote. On Monday, pro-choice advocates criticized Kaptur for sponsoring the Stupak amendment, which keeps federal funding out of abortions, except in rape or incest cases or when the mother's life is at risk.
