Sunday, May 17, 2009

Caleb Kumar not only became North Hennepin Community College's youngest graduate, but he graduated with honors from their 2-year program.

At just 13 years old, a Minnesota boy has achieved an astonishing feat. He has a college diploma.

Caleb Kumar was among the graduates at North Hennepin Community College. Kumar not only became the school's youngest graduate, but he graduated with honors from their 2-year program. "At first people were confused, but then after that it sort of just, people just recognized me. And they just treated me as an equal, and that's all I could have wanted," says Kumar.

Kumar started taking summer classes at the college when he was just 5 years old. He will attend high school in the fall with kids his own age, but says he will continue to take classes at the University of Minnesota in his free time.
