August 18, 2006 -- "Mars Spectacular"
E-mails have been coming in about how Mars will be its closest in 5,000 years. The e-mails also say that on August 27 Mars will be so close that it will be bigger and brighter then the moon.
Stan Stachak says that the e-mails are just a hoax. Mars was its closest back in 2003. But in order to see its size and brightness you would have need a very large telescope.
